Is Wedding Planning Worth It?

If you have ever planned a wedding, you probably know how stressful it can be. Planning a wedding should be fun and exciting but can also be very time consuming and stressful. There is so much to do from creating a guest list, to finding a caterer, to even finding places for out of town guests to stay. Not all of wedding planning is bad though. Of course everyone loves to find their perfect wedding dress and go cake tasting. But for the Bride and her family, cost and making sure everything is done is one reason they are ready for the wedding to be over with.

I got engaged this past October and will be getting married this coming August. I am so excited for the wedding but can not wait until the planning and preparing is over. There is so much you do not think about that goes into the cost of a wedding. From buying all the flowers, to paying a DJ for music, to paying for postage on invitations. Everything that goes into wedding planning is costly and adds up quickly. I tried to cut back on our cost some by making most of the decorations myself. I also found my wedding dress on clearance which saved us several hundred dollars.

Many times during the wedding planning I have wondered, is it really worth all the time and money? Should we have just went to the courthouse, got married, and then enjoyed our honeymoon instead? It may be costly and time consuming to plan a wedding, but you only get to plan a wedding once. For the bride, you only get to walk down the aisle in your beautiful wedding dress once. You only get to share your vows in front of your friends and family once. So you should enjoy it and make the most out of it while you can. Make it the wedding you have always dreamed about and remember the reason for getting married!
